I am an artist and master of fine arts student at Hunter College, in New York City.
My work is informed by the years I spent living in Palestine, working as a freelance photographer and journalist. Photography, videos, and sonic installations emerge from a foundation of documentary practice.
I grapple with the limits of documentary mediums to convey information and the distortions that occur in their application. I hold onto the problematics that arise from using mediums that carry grim histories as apparatuses of control wielded by colonial powers and contemporary nation states. My work is the result of this process, seeking to hold open the questions it raises rather than provide resolution.
